Tom & Katy were married on June 1st in Cambridge and chose a midsummer night’s dream inspired theme with a beautiful ivory and green palette.
I love Katy’s wedding day style so perfectly complemented with her elegant Benjamin Roberts dress.
Katy tells us more about her special day.
‘Our ceremony was at All Saints Church, Cottenham, Cambridge, the village I grew up in, followed by our reception at The Rectory Farm, Cambridge.
My opal ring from my great grandma was my something old, borrowed and blue. I did my own makeup mostly supplied by Bobbie Brown and Mac and hair dresser Luigi Altomonte did my hair and that of my bridesmaids. Luigi is a close friend so we spent the morning chatting and feeling relaxed as he did my hair helped with nerves.
I walked down the isle to Canon in d major performed by Stephanie Benedetti on the violin. Corinthians was read by my bridesmaid and sister in law Natalie.
I took inspiration from nature, midsummer nights dream, handmade features and small intricate details. Ivory and pale green colours ran throughout but we had no defined colour scheme.
Cambridge based Jackie Waller, family friend and full time cake maker and caterer did our stunning tiered cake.
All of our stationery including save the date cards, invitations, table plans and place name cards were all designed and made by my maid of honour and sister Lucy. The decorations and centrepieces were sourced by me and my family and designed by me.
Myles Sanko and his band provided the evening entertainment – he is a local Cambridge singer songwriter and an incredible talent.
Words of Wisdom
Take your time deciding on elements e.g centrepieces, themes. Spend the money on location, alcohol, food and entertainment, don’t let the wedding run dry! Consider having a live band – they create an incredible atmosphere and absolutely get the party started!’
